Return To Wonderland
An entirely new production, this new adaptation of Alice's Adventures In Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass was commissioned by director Charlotte Howard and written by local writer Alison Farina. Taking place shortly after World War I, an adult Alice is haunted by memories of her life at the front as a VAD nurse, until she spies her younger self in the looking glass and travels back to Wonderland. Performed at Christmas, the show incorporated song, dance, puppetry and pantomime physical comedy around the story, and Moray set two of Lewis Carroll's poems to music, sung by members of the cast during the show. He also composed a short ballet sequence on the theme of remembrance for the climax of the story.
A Midsummer Night's Dream
Set in the Victorian era where the industrial progress of the Athenian people threatens the natural ways of the fairies, several original pieces of classical music in the appropriate styles were used for the dance sequences, scene changes and as an overture to the whole play.
